Lack of focus, some reading, and some YELLOW!

My mind is so focused on the next few weekends that I'm having trouble thinking about the here and now.  Who wants to think about making maps when there is possible travel?

I'm so spoiled.  OOH and I started reading C.J. Cherryh's Foriegner  this morning on the bus.  My parents adore this series, so I'm going to give it a go.  They have given this book so much praise that I feel like my expectations are set pretty high.  The first chapter was rather...boring.  I'm sure it will get better though.  That, or I'll sleep on the bus again.  That isn't so bad.  Has anyone else read this book or series?  Is it AH-mazing?

Anyway, clothes.  My pendant was matchy with my shoes, so that was fun.

Black Shirt with lace shoulders: Target
Yellow happymaking Skirt: thrifted
Sandals: J-41
Purple Pendant: Self made

I love the tiny dots all over the skirt!

  2. really liking that bright yellow skirt! Very summery :) I haven't heard of that series at all! In fact, I haven't read a lot of sci/fi/fantasy series but I really should...

  3. You know, I tried reading Cherryh's Downbelow Station because a friend kept ranting and raving about how good it was...and I ended up putting it down after a chapter or two. Maybe it takes some getting into? I always have a harder time getting into older or harder sci-fi, but it can be so rewarding! We just have to remember and keep chugging along. It took me forever to finish A Deepness in the Sky, by Vernor Vinge, but it was soooo goooood. Keep working on that Cherryh and please report back!

P.S. I love love love that yellow skirt! I have been wanting to wear my own yellow skirt with a black top for a while, and you've just given me a nice reminder to do that sooner rather than later...
